Parents and family members, who are involved in child protection interventions, seek our service to advocate for them, assist them to navigate the system and to provide support, information and referral.

This position is classified Level 5 based on the SACS WA Interim 2011 Award with a salary sacrifice component.

Experience and skills:

  • Working with diverse groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
  • Working alongside parents to enhance skills and efficacy
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution work
  • The ability to respond to clients in distress
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Provide a high standard of written and verbal communication

Essential Criteria:

  • Holds a Degree in Social Work
  • Has knowledge of issues impacting parents and families involved with statutory child protection interventions
  • Is able to work within the parent-focussed ethos of Fin WA
  • Accepts the Fin WA way of working, that is respectful inclusion
  • Willing to use their personal vehicle for work (reimbursements provided) with Full Comprehensive Insurance
  • Provide a Police Clearance
