ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND

Foodbank NSW & ACT (FBNA) was founded in 1992 and together with Foodbank Australia and interstate affiliated Foodbank organisations it has now developed into the largest hunger relief organisation in Australia.

FBNA supplies food and groceries to over 700 member Welfare Agencies in NSW & ACT.

Foodbank is represented in all states of Australia and these operations are grouped together under a Federated structure with all states working together to feed the needy.

About the role

We are seeking a well presented, confident and proactive Receptionist who will be the “face” of FBNA to clients and guests while also providing vital administration and office support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer the company phone lines professionally and courteously, connect callers and visitors with employees. Check voice mail and distribute messages as appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining email correspondence
  • Meet and greet visitors to the office presenting a professional image. Direct deliveries and visitors as appropriate.
  • Maintain the FBNA Reception area ensuring it is tidy and well organised at all times.
  • Manage office supplies including ordering of stationery and other related items.
  • Prepare outgoing FBNA mail and accept incoming mail daily, sorting and distributing mail to employees.
  • Other associated administrative activities as required, including providing assistance with overflow of work from staff as required.
  • Accepting payments of FBNA Agency accounts.
  • Assist with membership enquiries and maintain data base.
  • Assist with charity administration matters as required.
  • Data entry when required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise issues
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Internet, Word
  • Strong telephone skills
  • Customer focus
  • Strong Customer service skills
