Families Tasmania are seeking a dynamic, engaging and committed leader to fulfil the newly created role of Program Manager!

THE ROLE

  • Fixed Term Contract (12 Months) with possible extension
  • 0.6 FTE
  • SCHADS Award Level 7
  • The successful candidate may elect to work both at home, with a suitable home office environment, and in the Families Tasmania Hobart office at the McDougall Building, 1 Ellerslie Rd, Battery Point

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for managing the Families Tasmania program delivery team which delivers parenting support, health and wellbeing programs and services to Tasmanian families in all regions of the state.

This role includes:

  • Providing operational leadership to the program delivery team (approx 4.0 FTE)
  • Ensuring programs are managed effectively through contract compliance, high quality service provision and ongoing reporting against contractual measures and outcomes.
  • Building and maintaining positive collaborative relationships with the Families Tasmania board, program delivery team and external contract managers and partners.

To achieve this, the Program Manager will:

  • Work closely with the Families Tasmania Board, program delivery team, and key program partners to support achievement of the organisation’s overall strategic objectives.
  • Work in line with the Values of Families Tasmania and represent the organisation and its Values throughout all work-related activities.
  • Report directly to and participate as Public Officer of the Families Tasmania Board, through activities including:
    • Reporting against the organisation’s operational workplan and annual budget.
    • Providing secretarial and organisational support to the Families Tasmania Board, including attending board meetings, providing operational and program reports and preparing other papers as requested.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the organisation, including:
    • Mentor, support and manage program delivery team members.
    • Manage and maintain external consultant relationships and contracts, for example, IR and finance consultants.
    • Oversee day to day financial functions including payroll, funding, budget and contract reporting.
    • Manage the Families Tasmania office and assets.
    • Prepare, manage and report against the organisation’s annual budget, with support from the Board Treasurer.
  • Any other duties as may be required.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in program delivery and/or management.
  • Significant experience in successfully managing multiple programs, especially parenting and family support services and successfully managing staff based in multiple locations.
  • Experience in program development and growth, and the delivery of programs in a complex and changing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience managing day to day program and financial operations in a not-for-profit organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with contract managers, partners and other diverse external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively set priorities and manage a diverse range of organisation, project and program contracts including external and government funding contracts.
  • A current Working with Vulnerable Persons registration and willingness to undertake a National Police Check
