  • Base Salary ($128,473 - $148,578) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Supporting over 35,000 customers annually and administering more than six billion in customer assets, NSW Trustee & Guardian is a statutory agency within the Stronger Communities Cluster.  The Agency supports the Chief Executive Officer and the Public Guardian to protect and promote the rights, dignity, choices and wishes of the people of New South Wales. We do this by providing independent and impartial financial management, guardianship and trustee services that support our customers and help them manage their health, lifestyle and financial affairs and ensure their wishes are respected. NSWTG also provides a fully accredited Will preparation service, writing more than 13,000 Wills, Power of Attorney and Enduring Guardianship documents each year, helping customers to document their last wishes and providing peace of mind that their instructions on the disbursement of their estate are fulfilled.    

Our services help support and protect some of the most vulnerable members of the NSW community, and support people at vulnerable moments in their life. 

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that works towards ensuring regulatory compliance in the delivery of human resource strategies, services, and advice in matters regarding organisational management, conduct, performance, work, health and safety and industrial relations.

This role will suit someone who enjoys a ‘hands on’ role partnering with executive, line management and staff to provide HR advice, coaching and consultancy services. This position leads a small team which includes WHS as part of its remit.

About you

You are a collaborative and talented leader of people with a strategic view on human resource topics. You know how to build strong relationships, collaborate and communicate effectively with leaders and project managers to drive outcomes.

You will have demonstrated experience in investigating and resolving complex and highly sensitive conduct, performance and work, health and safety matters. Experienced at interpreting legislation and awards, you will be a confident communicator, able to provide advice to senior management, ensuring information is factual, based on award conditions, legislation and precedent. A strong negotiator you will be confident in representing NSWTG at external hearings such as those listed in the IRC.  

Engaging and energetic, you understand the value of an engaged workforce and you’re committed to making NSWTG a great place to work.  You excel in your interpersonal skills and have proven experience influencing senior leaders and operating in a complex customer centric environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications in Human Resources Management and/or demonstrated high-level HR experience in performance, conduct, employee relations and work health & safety.
  • Strong commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and travel may be required
