The Estate Management Division makes financial and legal decisions for people who are unable to on their own, or with support, when NSW Trustee & Guardian is appointed as their financial manager by a court or tribunal. The team also oversees people who are appointed to privately manage the finances of another person.
The Estate Planning and Administration division provides trustee services including; Wills and estate planning, estate administration, trusts and power of attorney services.
In the role of NCAT Liaison Officer, you will be representing NSW Trustee & Guardian at complex and urgent initial guardianship hearings and review hearings You will provide comprehensive subject matter expertise and procedural guidance that aligns with the general principles of the NSW Trustee and Guardian Act 2009, Guardianship Act 1987 and relevant legislation. You will review Tribunal decisions to identify policy positions and training needs to address systemic and practice issues. Additionally, you will be collaborating with Public Guardian, Registry, Legal and Estate Management teams to ensure processes are effective, efficient and meet customer needs.

You will possess the ability to communicate and engage with a range of stakeholders, effectively manage a network of contacts and bring together key parties to collaborate on complex matters. Additionally, you will be resilient and have the capability of managing the expectations of a diverse group of stakeholders, including members of the public. The role requires an ability to determine work priorities and develop and maintain strong working relationships across relevant agencies, government departments, and Tribunals.
