The role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Policy & Compliance Officer to support ERF’s Programs & Partnerships Manager. This role will oversee ongoing management, review and improvement of ERF’s policy framework, compliance systems, risk registers and staff training, with a particular focus on DFAT Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) accreditation and ACFID Code of Conduct membership. You will also support our implementing partners in strengthening their own policies and compliance practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage ERF’s policy register and workflows, ensuring policies are up-to-date and aligned with ANCP/ACFID standards.
- Support partner organisations in reviewing, updating and improving their policies.
- Deliver training and guidance to staff and partners to strengthen policy awareness and compliance.
- Maintain and update the Country Risk Register, monitor compliance risks and support mitigation strategies.
- Prepare compliance briefings and evidence packs for management and Board oversight.
About you
- Experience in policy development, compliance, or governance in the international development sector; ANCP/DFAT/ACFID experience highly desirable.
- Strong project management and systems skills (MS Planner or equivalent).
- Excellent written communication and ability to translate policy into practical tools.
- Understanding of vetting processes, proscribed checks and privacy obligations.
- Tertiary qualification in public policy, international development, governance, law, or related field is desirable.
