The Epilepsy Foundation supports people living with epilepsy and their families to live the life they want. We seek a full time Epilepsy Educator/Trainer to deliver epilepsy education and training.

0.8 workload will be considered.

The role will suit Registered Nurses who hold or are willing to obtain Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or can demonstrate equivalent experience in adult education. 

Epilepsy education and training is delivered to a range of audiences including families, staff in early learning centres and other education settings, disability and direct care providers, health professionals, workplace and community organisations and when emergency medication is prescribed.

Training sessions are sometimes scheduled outside of normal business hours. Typically, this would involve finishing training via webinar or at the venue site between the hours of 5.30pm-8.30pm. Flexible start times and time in lieu provisions are in place for such occasions.

Occasional regional travel may be required with or without an overnight stay.

Work days would include a Wednesday and Friday. During the peak training period in Term 1 of the school year, annual leave may be limited to a max of one week at a time.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in health care and/or workplace education and training, especially within established curriculum frameworks to a range of audiences
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and experience in the application of adult learning principles
  • Experience working within a quality framework
  • Experience with developing and maintaining client/customer relationships within a compliance operating environment
  • Knowledge of epilepsy and its impact on the individual is desirable

The work location is blended between our Surrey Hills office and working remotely from home. 

The position reports to the Education & Training Manager and offers challenge, opportunity and an attractive, above award remuneration package including salary packaged vehicle and other benefits. Well-developed knowledge of epilepsy is not required but a strong willingness to learn is essential. The successful applicant will receive appropriate supports and equipment to enable them to work from home.
