EON Aboriginal Foundation is an Aboriginal-led not-for-profit organisation working alongside remote Aboriginal communities to improve food security, nutrition and health through edible gardens and hands-on education programs.

We are looking for a Project Manager based in Katherine (or nearby) to deliver hands-on gardening, cooking and healthy eating programs with children and communities across the Big Rivers Region, working across Yarralin, Jilkminggan and at MacFarlane Primary School in Katherine.

This is a hands-on and varied role working closely with schools, children and communities. You will:

  • Run practical gardening, cooking and nutrition lessons
  • Help children grow, harvest and cook fresh food through hands-on learning
  • Establish and maintain edible gardens
  • Build strong relationships with schools and community members
  • Work independently in remote settings

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys practical, hands-on work with gardens, food and cooking
  • Confident engaging and teaching children in simple, practical ways
  • Comfortable working in remote Aboriginal communities
  • Organised, adaptable and able to work independently
  • Communicates well with people of all ages and backgrounds

Experience in gardening, cooking, community programs, education or youth work will be highly regarded.

Key Details

  • Full-time position
  • Fixed term to mid-2027, with possible extension
  • Salary packaging available
  • 6 weeks annual leave
  • Travel allowance for nights away
  • Fully maintained work vehicle provided
  • The role includes regular travel across the Big Rivers Region, typically spending 3 nights in Yarralin one week and 1 night in Jilkminggan the next, with the remainder based in Katherine.
