Environs Kimberley (EK) is the peak environmental NGO in the Kimberley. We are dedicated to preserving the health of the land and waters of the region through community campaigns, advocacy, and on-the-ground cultural and natural resource management projects.

Our purpose is to protect the nature of the Kimberley, with environmental and social sustainability as guiding principles.

THE ROLE

This is a hands on production and publishing role responsible for the day-to-day delivery of EK's digital communications across social media, email, web and multimedia channels.

You'll keep our storytelling consistent and compelling, reaching the right audiences at the right time, while maintaining the operational precision that makes communications effective at scale. You'll also contribute to delivery, analytics, and the evolution of EK's digital presence over time.

The ideal candidate combines strong editorial instincts with technical platform literacy across Nationbuilder, Metabase, Canva and Adobe and a genuine passion for environmental projects and advocacy.

key responsibilities

  • Social Media and Community Engagement: Manage EK's social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms
  • Email Marketing and CRM: Build, format and send EDM campaigns while monitoring engagement metrics
  • Content Production and Website: Publish and update website content, format newsletters and reporting, design social tiles, optimise images, produce short video when needed, proof-read content from staff and contributors to a high standard.
  • Workflow, Approvals and Reporting: Manage the content approvals workflow end-to-end, coordinating the comms calendar, communicating deadlines, completing post-campaign reporting, and maintaining compliance with copyright, privacy and cultural obligations.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Experience managing social media and email marketing in a professional or organisational context
  • Strong writing, editing, and proof-reading skills with close attention to detail
  • Comfortable with digital publishing tools, EDM/CRM platforms, Nationbuilder, Meta Business Suite, and design such as Canva
  • Organised and reliable, with the ability to manage a busy content calendar across multiple stakeholders
  • Awareness of legal and ethical obligations in digital communications such as copyright, privacy, and cultural sensitivity

Desirable criteria

  • Video production skills
  • Background in the environmental, advocacy, or not-for-profit sector
  • Understanding of cultural protocols in communications, particularly in relation to First Nations communities

  • 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading.
