Communications Officer

We are looking for someone to join our team who will be responsible for developing engaging content that can be shared across multiple channels to promote the Institute, its activities and achievements. This is a valued role as it will ensure that EIANZ’s brand and message is communicated consistently and strategically, to increase engagement and maintain EIANZ's positive reputation.

What you will do

  • Create and distribute dynamic print and digital communications including newsletters, membership brochures, and publications.
  • Assist with communications and marketing in relation to the EIANZ annual conference, and other events.
  • Work collaboratively with the Central Office team, the EIANZ Board, EIANZ committee members, and other EIANZ members to deliver effective communications.
  • Manage and maintain the EIANZ website and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram).
  • Provide timely and effective customer service to members, prospective members, and stakeholders.

About you

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in a relevant field, such as communications or journalism.
  • At least three years’ work experience in a similar role.
  • We are looking for someone who is:
    • Collaborative, supportive and inclusive,
    • Ethical, discrete, accountable and professional, and
    • Innovative, flexible and proactive.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science or management, or experience working in the environmental sector.
  • Experience working in a member-based, not-for-profit organisation.
  • Has experience with copywriting.
  • Has experience in graphic design and use of the Adobe suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific matters to a wide range of audiences including government, industry and the community.
