About the role:

Our Client is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to assisting individuals of all ages.

They are seeking Counsellors to join their team who have a wide and diverse range of expertise and as such, they are keen to talk with you, whether you have a desire to change careers to Counselling or if you are a graduate seeking to align yourself with a professional and caring service provider.

Team members of our Client make a meaningful contribution to the Wide Bay region of Queensland via counselling support within the diverse communities of the region.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a high-quality face to face counselling service.
• Providing focused specialist counselling support to women, men, children and young people.
• Advocate with or on behalf of clients where appropriate, particularly with police, the judicial and medical systems.
• Record counselling case notes and client statistics in a timely manner consistent with confidentiality and professional standards.
• Participate regularly in the intake service assessing and enabling eligible people to access our service with ease. Provide information regarding services, supports, options and waiting lists.
• Deliver services from one or more of our outreach locations which are currently situated in the towns of Gayndah and Biggenden and other locations within the region as required or directed.
• Providing support to client’s requisite medical and/or police procedures.
• Participate in client feedback/evaluation processes. 
• Facilitate therapeutic and support groups for women, men children and young people, family, carers and support people.
• Maintain co-operative working relations with other relevant agencies and within the organisational structure. 
• Maintain a working understanding of Policy and Procedures of the organisation. 
• Work efficiently and effectively to achieve service agreement targets.
• Attend regular supervision (work review and clinical supervision) to develop own clinical practice, manage potential impacts on personal well-being of the work. Provide strong leadership to the management of the business.
• To provide quality training to other services and community groups.
• Provide education and training to the community, other professionals and groups.
• Develop and maintain networks and links with relevant professional groups and community-based organisations.
• Participate in service planning and evaluation.

Key Requirements:

• Studying for or qualified with a Diploma in Counselling or relevant Degree or
• APHRA registration

Other:

• Possession of a current, full Queensland Drivers Licence (C Class).
• Willing to go through a Criminal History check.
• Possess a current Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian suitability (Blue) card or ability to obtain
