Who we're looking for

Our committed EACH team are looking for a part-time (.6FTE/22.8 hours per week) Peer Support Worker to join them!

We're looking for a 'hands on' individual with a Certification IV in Disability, Mental Health or related field/experience and understands the challenges supporting those experiencing chronic/complex mental health or social issues. If you have a supportive, empathetic nature with a passion for connecting with people, we'd love to hear from you!

Joining our BounceBack team, you will draw upon your own lived experience of a mental health recovery journey to provide one-on-one support and assistance to individuals experiencing complex mental health issues.

What you'll be doing

Your strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and ability to produce new ideas, approaches or insights in working with young people will be key in the day-to-day success, of the Peer Support Worker.

You will support a caseload of approx. 10 young people referred to the BounceBack program, providing individual centre-based, telehealth and outreach support to them in their journey with their mental health. You will be working in collaboration with the BB clinical team and external agencies concerning the young person's care, where you will advocate for using your lived experience and understanding of their needs. In doing so, helping them integrate with services based on their interests, building their capacity to be part of their community.

Who you'll be working with

You will be working with a passionate and enthusiastic team of twelve, which consists of a team leader and senior clinician/coordinator, mental health clinicians from psychology, social work and occupational therapy disciplines, family therapists, a psychiatrist, carer and peer support.
