MyTime Facilitator - Frankston

Down Syndrome Victoria

about the program

The MyTime program is an initiative funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services (DSS) and coordinated nationally by the Parenting Resource Centre (PRC).

It is a facilitated peer support program for parents and carers who have a child with disability under the age of 18, that promotes connection to other families and community. Down Syndrome Victoria works in partnership with Parenting Resource Centre to deliver the Victorian MyTime program.

See the website at mytime.net.au.

MyTime groups are conducted by a facilitator who is responsible for leading parent discussions on various topics throughout the term. Pre-school children can attend the group with their parents/carers, (including siblings) where a play helper engages the children in meaningful play experiences. The play sessions run concurrently, so that parents/carers can participate and engage in the discussion and participate in group sessions and activities.

The MyTime Facilitator is responsible for the facilitation of their peer support group to ensure the smooth running of their program in accordance with PRC and DSV policy, procedure and guidelines.

We are looking for a highly motivated facilitator with experience working in the disability sector.

There may be additional opportunities within DSV for the successful candidate.

We are looking for someone to start immediately.
