Drought Angels is a not-for-profit organisation providing a unique service to Australian Primary Producers and their families affected by natural disasters such as drought, fire, mouse plague and flood. Although small in size, we have become well known within the rural sector for our big efforts and the highly effective methods we use in providing vital financial aid, emotional support, and valuable resources to rebuild and sustain livelihoods across Australia.

We are a charity run by a team of ‘support’ enthusiast with big hearts, listening ears, and warm hugs. Together we have helped almost 10,000 Primary Producers and their families and have raised over $24 M for those impacted by Australia’s most devastating and traumatic natural disasters.

About the role:

In order to continue the distribution of support to our Primary Producers, we are on the lookout for an experienced Fundraising Coordinator to join our team. Based in our Brisbane office, the Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for administering, supporting and growing our community fundraising activities.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in planning and organising fundraising campaigns from start to finish and has a strong understanding of the fundraising landscape in Australia and associated trends for a not-for-profit organisation. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Marketing and part of a close-knit supportive team, the Fundraising Coordinator role is responsible for:

  • Providing admin and coordination support for fundraising activities.
  • Guiding event participants from conception to their big day through to completion.
  • Using the fundraising platform Raisley efficiently to leverage opportunities.
  • Working across a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assisting with Drought Angel events (occasional weekend and evening work).
  • Writing promotional content for various platforms to enhance community and third-party fundraising visibility.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with the internal Drought Angels team to manage corporate volunteers while fostering and maintaining strong relationships with volunteers.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to develop and execute fundraising campaigns.

About you:

The successful candidate will be passionate about effective fundraising to support those in need and make a real difference in our communities. You will be an excellent communicator with initiative and personable attributes, which you will use to your advantage in motivating and engaging our supporters. Additionally, your experience in fundraising activities will allow you to manage supporter relations and meet financial targets at agreed deadlines. We also highly value the following qualifications and skills:

  • Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Working knowledge of CRMs
  • Flexibility for occasional travel
