Dr Amanda Cohn MLC is hiring a content producer to connect communities with her work with the Greens in the NSW Parliament.
OUR TEAM
Dr Cohn is one of seven Greens MPs in the NSW Parliament. Before her election to Parliament in March 2023, Dr Cohn was a country GP and frontline emergency services volunteer. You can read more about Amanda here.
Our small team works across a variety of portfolio areas:
- Health including Mental Health
- Local Government
- Youth
- LGBTQIA+
- Emergency Services
- Sport & Recreation
- Waste
- Air Quality
- Regions of Riverina Murray, Central West and Far West NSW
THE POSITION
- Hours: Approximately one day per week equivalent, with some variability
- Remuneration: $54.99/hour (equivalent to starting rate for staff employed by NSW Parliament to support an upper house MP)
- Location: Our office is at NSW Parliament in Sydney CBD; a significant proportion of this role may be able to be performed remotely. Occasional travel to events by negotiation.
- Contract: Casual role paid at hourly rate. Start date as soon as practicable; negotiable for the right candidate.
This is a dynamic and varied role, including (but not limited to) social media content and visual asset creation from start to finish, video editing, photography and videography, and website management.
Parliamentary or political experience is not a requirement, but you should have experience campaigning for progressive political values.

SELECTION CRITERIA
You will be someone who:
- Has demonstrated experience using technology including graphic design and video editing tools
- Understands different social media platforms and audiences
- Has an eye for engaging design
- Is proficient with photography and videography
- Has demonstrated experience or interest in activism and/or community campaigns, particularly for social and environmental justice
- Has the ability to work positively as a member of a small team including demonstrated initiative, collaborative work practice and capacity to work unsupervised, manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Is committed to Greens principles of social and economic justice, ecological sustainability, peace and disarmament, and grassroots participatory democracy
Non-essential skills looked upon favourably:
- Experience in, or demonstrated understanding of one or more of the following policy areas: Health including mental health, local government, youth, LGBTQIA+, emergency services, sport and recreation, waste, air quality, or the regions of Riverina Murray, Central West or Far West NSW
- Understanding of NSW and Australian political issues and the political system
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure professional environment
- Ability to ensure communications are inclusive and considerate of the needs and perspectives of diverse communities
