This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Policy & Projects Team at the Diversity Council Australia (DCA).

The Policy & Projects Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating DCA strategic projects (including developing project plans, project administration, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget, and stakeholder relationships);
  • Responding to and managing the administration of DCA inquiries about leading diversity thinking, research and practice; and
  • Contribute to DCA’s government relations activities and identify opportunities to be ahead of national debates on diversity and inclusion policy.

Flexible role (hours & location) but must work in AEST time-zone reporting to the Sydney based Policy & Programs Director.

This is a 12-month contract with a view to permanency.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The applicant must address the following selection criteria:

  1. Have excellent communication skills and the ability to write concisely for a business audience;
  2. Be able to coordinate projects in a timely, inclusive and resource effective manner, to help ensure key deliverables are met by due dates and to budget;
  3. Have subject matter expertise about diversity and inclusion in a workplace context;
  4. Be able to manage relationships effectively with key stakeholders including with DCA member organisations, partners, academics and government; and
  5. Model DCA values of inclusion, respect, adaptability, courage and integrity.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills & attention to detail;
  • Strong subject matter expertise in diversity and inclusion;
  • Experience managing and coordinating strategic projects;
  • Experience or ability to draft submissions to government inquires;
  • Self-starter with plenty of drive, initiative and motivation, and the ability to work unsupervised,
  • Able to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders,
  • Models DCA values of inclusion, respect, adaptability, courage and integrity
