This role is to support John, who has a physical disability and uses an electric wheelchair.

John lives with his wife in their own home in Glen Huntly, 3163.

They have 2 cats.

The role is to assist John in getting out of bed, dressed and support him in transferring to his wheelchair.

Other duties involves John's pressure sore management and a variety of other personal care tasks such as going to the toilet, having breakfast and light house duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Getting John out of bed and dressed in the mornings (slide transfer, lifting machines not used)
  • Maintain personal hygiene e.g. basic grooming and using the toilet

Skills and Experience:

  • Be prepared for guided instruction and collaboration during tasks
  • On the job training will be provided

It is expected that candidates can work for a minimum of 6 months.

The employer of this role is Disability Support Melbourne P/L which is an legal entity created to manage John's team of support workers.
