Digital Rights Watch has a vision is for a digital world where all humanity can thrive, and where diversity and creativity flourishes. We exist to ensure fairness, freedoms and fundamental rights for all people who engage in the digital world.
We are small but mighty, and are making a lot of change. We have recently employed a number of staff, and are in a phase of renewed strategic energy. We are looking for a board member to contribute to our proper governance and bold ambition. We are especially looking for candidates with financial experience (CPA preferred) to take on the role of treasurer and ensure we hold ourselves to high standards of financial discipline.
If you don't know much about digital rights but you're keen to learn, and you've got skills to offer, we'd love to hear from you.
In particular, we're REALLY keen to improve diversity in this space, so if that sounds like you, don't hesitate to get in touch.
We are mostly in Melbourne, but would love to have more board members from other parts of the country.
We are looking for someone who:
Board terms are renewable annually. We meet monthly after office hours for approximately 1.5 hours.
With other committees and ad hoc work, we seek a commitment of 4-8 hours per month.
This is a volunteer position. All pre-approved expenses will be reimbursed.
The board and staff are mostly in Melbourne, but would encourage people outside of Melbourne to apply.
