Digital Purpose is looking for a dynamic, versatile and experienced Senior Management Consultant to join our Sydney-based digital consultancy and assist with both our growth strategy, and operational management and delivery.

From toy sharing apps for kids with disabilities and refugee employment systems, through to medical eLearning platforms and Indigenous procurement programs – we bring enterprise-grade design and development skills to the social impact sector.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Management Consultant to join our team and help us on two fronts:

  • Internally you will be helping us mature our business processes and achieve greater efficiencies in how we operate. You will work directly with the CEO to ensure our growth strategy balances social impact, financial sustainability and operational success. You will assist with identifying and solving gaps in our skill sets, processes and team cohesion.
  • Externally you will be working with our clients to understand their business challenges, identify the solutions (both technical and process oriented) that will help them achieve their business goals and oversee the implementation, rollout and support of solutions needed, working closely with our technical delivery team.

Digital Purpose has a highly diverse mix of clients, ranging from pre-revenue, one-person startups up to high-profile, Government backed social change initiatives. You will be dealing daily with small and large clients, small and large projects, as well as clients from the startup, traditional corporate, not-for-profit and Government sectors.

In addition, we are a small team but growing exponentially so you will need to have proven experience working with both ends of the spectrum internally. Ideally you will have experience transitioning a company from small to medium (and ideally to large) and be able to hit the ground running and help us through this transition.

Key requirements

  • At least 10 years commercial experience as a Management Consultant or similar,
  • A Bachelor's degree (equivalent) or higher
  • A demonstrated passion for and exposure to the social impact sector (either commercial or notable volunteer experience) and making a positive difference in the world
  • Commercial experience working with clients ranging from small startups to large, traditional corporates, Government agencies and not-for-profit organisations.
  • No-nonsense and results-driven, you like to be measured by outcomes, not effort
  • Excited about technology and experienced using it to create cutting edge, innovative solutions that solve genuine needs
  • Demonstrable customer empathy, with an ability to identify customer needs quickly and help map out solutions that span technology, operational and business model needs.
  • Proven experience in (IT) project delivery, including management processes and frameworks
  • Business development experience, helping find, shape and secure opportunities and being able to quote them realistically offering transparency to our customers
  • Experience driving the implementation of process improvements and business strategy recommendations, reviewing outcomes and recommending improvements
  • Experience developing relevant documentation for all stages from proposal through to delivery and post-review of client-related initiatives
  • Commercial team management skills, having helped lead teams through significant structural change and growth
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to build and maintain relationships with our clients
  • Flexible with outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Work from home while Covid demands it but then you must be available to join the team in our Surry Hills based office on work days, once that’s sensible to do

Remuneration and the application process

At Digital Purpose, our ethos is we pay fair market rates for our staff as per the wider industry. As such you can expect a salary on par with what the industry is paying for Senior Management Consultants at small to medium sized enterprises, with the opportunity for this to increase over time as Digital Purpose grows. Exact salary will be dependent on your personal experience and we will discuss this with you at the interview stage.

This is a permanent, full time job, based in Sydney, Australia.
