About Us

The Don't Forget My Pet Foundation is a registered charity committed to helping individuals in need of support keep their beloved pets. With a particular focus on supporting those facing financial difficulties and individuals dealing with illness, aging, disability, or mental health challenges — thereby preventing isolation and loneliness, and improving mental and physical well-being for all.

We run three services across Greater Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula, and Ballarat: Safety Net Foster Care, In-Home Pet Support, and a Pet Food Bank. And we're just getting started.

About the Role

We're looking for passionate, skilled individuals to join our Board as General Board Members. This is a working Board — our Directors actively contribute to strategy, governance, and growth, not just attend meetings.

As a small and evolving organisation, the right person will genuinely help shape what this role looks like. If you care about vulnerable people in your community and want to put your skills to work for a cause that matters, we'd love to hear from you.

What We're Looking For

We're open to candidates from all backgrounds. Experience in any of the following areas is particularly valuable right now:

  • Marketing — brand, digital, comms, or PR
  • Technical / AI — software, data, or technology strategy
  • Strategy — business planning, growth, or innovation
  • Governance — legal, compliance, or risk management
  • Administrative — operations, finance, HR, or project management

None of these are required — they're desirable. What matters most is genuine commitment to our mission and a willingness to contribute beyond the meeting room.

Time Commitment

  • Six Board meetings and six Strategy meetings per year (via digital channels)
  • Attendance at major fundraising events where possible
  • Minimum two-year term
  • Individual time to fulfil responsibilities between meetings

How to Apply

To submit your application please click 'Apply Now' by the closing date.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a police check and sign the DFMPF Code of Conduct (2026).
