Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service (DYHS) is seeking a passionate Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join our research projects aimed at improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
This exciting role combines clinical care, community engagement, and research participation in a groundbreaking cardiovascular disease prevention program (Yorga Mooditj Koort (Strong Women Hearts)) delivered in partnership with the University of Melbourne and ASAVI (Australian Strep A Vaccine Initiative) supporting the vaccine development activities and Strep A infection surveillance.
You will play a key role in supporting Aboriginal people and their health through culturally safe care, education, and coordinated health services. This is a 50D identified Maximum Term Part or Full-time position for 10 months from start date.
As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, you will provide culturally appropriate primary health care while supporting participants involved in the YMK and ASAVI clinical trials. You will work alongside GPs, nurses, researchers, and allied health professionals to deliver integrated care that supports prevention, early intervention, and better health outcomes.
