About the role

  • Full Time Contract Position, with immediate start
  • Based in Melbourne Metro; interstate travel may be required

Position Overview

Working closely with the CEO and Executive Team, the Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for all marketing and communications relating to the promotion of DCA and associated brands and products. The role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans and PR strategies to support existing and planned business activities, design of marketing collateral and growth of brands. The purpose is to attract and engage more participants in DCA's key mission, services, products and activities. The role provides strategic media advice and support to senior management and staff across a range of media or public relations matters.

The Marketing and Communications Manager will also be responsible for the development and management of the Marketing budget and expenditures. The role has autonomy and covers everything marketing and communications.

Skills and experience:

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or a similar field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience at a similar level of responsibility within Marketing and Communications field.
  • Proven ability to create and execute marketing strategies, manage campaigns to meet business objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing strategic media advice and support to senior management and staff across a range of media or public relations matters.
  • Proven experience with digital media including social media platforms, email marketing, SEO.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to generate positive media coverage through high quality media releases, articles and reports.
  • Well developed planning and organisational skills including scope and schedule management.
  • Proven advanced problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
  • Finance and cost control management experience.
  • High level IT literacy, proficient user of Microsoft Office tools, including database development

Desirable

  • Lived experience as a deaf or hard of hearing individual or parent of a child with deafness or hearing loss will be highly valued.
  • Knowledge of the issues faced by parents of DHoH children
  • Auslan Skills or willingness to learn
