Mental Health Clinician - Burnie

Cornerstone Youth Services

The Position

headspace is seeking a suitably qualified mental health clinician (psychologist, social worker, OT or registered nurse) to join their Burnie team in a full time capacity for 12 months, with a possible extension. This is an ideal opening for a clinician to provide therapeutic counselling and support to young people aged between 12-25. This may include working with their families, school and linking with other community agencies.

If you aren’t already living in Tasmania then you may even be looking to try living and working here in Tasmania. Either way this might be a great way to test the waters and join this organisation for a fixed period!

As we mentioned you must hold a degree in psychology, social work, occupational therapy or other similar allied health discipline with relevant professional membership or eligibility for membership. Applicants will have knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence-based counselling frameworks.

The Organisation

headspace Centres act as a one stop-shop for young people who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs or work and study support. No two headspace centres are the same, with each offering unique services that reflect the needs of its local community.

headspace is delivered in the north and north west of Tasmanian by Cornerstone Youth Services and in Burnie is located in the CBD, with easy access to car parking.

What's on offer?

The successful applicant will be joining an energetic and dedicated team and will have access to considerable clinical support. In addition to all of the above you will be offered an above award salary which will be negotiated depending on skills and experience. This also includes salary packaging options and the prestige of having worked with a nationally renowned organisation and having a positive impact in the lives of some of Tasmania’s youth.
