As part of the wider Community Solutions Group our services include employment services as well disability, community and youth programs across regional and metropolitan Victoria and South Australia adding further opportunity and benefit to our customers.

About The Role:

We are now looking to hire a Youth Coach on a permanent full time basis to join our friendly, supportive and high performing Narre Warren based Transition to Work team. This position will assist youth participants to engage back into the community through employment or education. The focus will be on involving participants to address gaps in employability skills through intensive activities, into work programs or further education. This will position participants, to be referred to paid employment opportunities as quickly as possible.

The day-to-day duties will be, but not be limited to:

  • Engaging all youth participants to participate in 25 hours per week of an activity
  • Plan and identify specific individually tailored job related, vocational and non-vocational programs for the participant
  • Use a variety of assessment tools, tests and strategies to assess a client's particular interests, abilities, skills, motivation, attitude, values and knowledge
  • Ensuring appropriate services are provided and recommended to youth participants.
  • Engage with community organisations that assist people who are at a social disadvantage
  • Ensure participants are meeting their monthly mutual obligation requirements

About You:

You believe in making a difference in people's lives and will ideally come from a similar background in a community based organisation and/or employment services. Our successful have:

  • Knowledge of the labour market, programs & community agencies
  • Proven ability to motivate participants, and advocate on their behalf
  • Ability to quickly build rapport & conduct an objective assessment of the participant’s skills & abilities
  • Relevant industry qualifications (desirable)
  • Ability to communicate to all stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Administrative and compliance capabilities.
  • Competency in Microsoft packages including Word and Excel

A current and valid driver’s licence is essential, as is a Working with Children card or the willingness to gain one.
