About CLV
Community Languages Victoria (CLV) is the peak body representing and supporting more than 200 community language schools across Victoria. These schools deliver high‑quality language education and cultural maintenance programs to over 40,000 students in 55 languages across the state (and more than 100,000 students nationally). Operating outside mainstream schooling, usually on weekends or after hours and run largely by volunteers from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, community language schools play a vital role in complementing the work of mainstream schools and the Victorian School of Languages. Together, they form an important educational asset that enriches Victorian society and benefits all Australians.
