Nestled on the banks of Birrarung, Collingwood Children’s Farm was founded in 1979 to support and engage local children experiencing adversity. A much loved non-profit organisation and registered charity, the Farm’s reason for being remains true to its roots: community engagement, education and nature connection with green space and animals.

The Farm is looking for an Education Officer to help design, develop and deliver innovative and engaging education programs for children, young people and adults. Knowledge and experience of teaching and delivery of school curriculum requirements will be highly regarded.

The position is a fixed term part time contract (parental leave) two days per week with the option of additional ad hoc shifts. The Farm seeks an immediate start.

You will be an excellent communicator with a collaborative approach, able to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external. You will have a proactive approach to program development, and be able to identify future educational needs, and plan, develop and modify programs to meet those needs.

It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Education qualifications (or studying towards) / classroom experience (school or kinder) are highly regarded
  • Understanding of current issues in relation to Farm education programs i.e. food and fibre production, climate change, sustainable practices, regenerative agriculture etc
  • Capacity to harness ICTs to develop and deliver innovative quality education products and services
  • High level organisational, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively
  • Be an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player who is approachable and adaptable
  • Valid Working With Children check
