Ability to facilitate communication is integral to this role. For this reason, impeccable English literacy skills are necessary. Please detail any previous experience using a facilitated communication device, as this will be viewed favourably.

Colby leads an extremely active lifestyle. His weekly activities include walking 5km every morning, sailing on Albert Park Lake, attending Planetshakers Church, swimming at St Kilda Baths, studying, and attending appointments and events.

In the evenings, Colby loves to go out with his friends and see live music in the bars of St Kilda.

Colby is looking for an outgoing, capable, Personal Assistant who is able to use initiative to solve problems, has a fantastic work ethic, and is fun to be around!

The successful applicant:

• Must have excellent written English and verbal communication skills (important for communicating using the typing device) are required
• Must have excellent computer skills
• Must be prepared to make long-term commitment after the one-month trial period is completed
• Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Must have a Degree or studying a Bachelor course
• Must live within 30 minutes of South Melbourne
• Must have 2 professional referees
• is willing to provide personal care in a residential environment
• is able to relate to and work with people with social and emotional difficulties
• is able to implement behaviour support plans for people with challenging behaviours

The applicant must possess or be willing to obtain:

• Current First Aid Certificate
• Satisfactory criminal history check
• Impeccable references

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual.

Salary: $27.00 to $36.00 / hour.
