About the role
The Art Therapist is responsible for the implementation and contribution of Art Therapy Interventions and therapeutic groups with the Brimbank Local.
The program goal is to enhance and provide positive art experiences that foster, enhance and develop individual's emotional, physical, creative, expressive, and sensory experiences using art as the conduit.
The role will develop and provide both individual and group interventions both onsite and in the community.

Your duties include:
- Consult with organisational and team personnel to create a program which supports a multidisciplinary approach to recovery
- Facilitate art therapy group and individual interventions in consultation with consumers to meet consumers' goals and objectives
- Assesses consumer needs and identify appropriate therapeutic orientations and goals for service in a client centred way within a multidisciplinary team approach
- Provide support to family, carers to support consumers to attend and engage in therapeutic activities and individual programs

Our ideal candidate:
- Master's degree in Art Therapy or related discipline and three years of related experience required
- Demonstrated ability to work with people with mental health conditions
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate individual and group based therapeutic art programs for people with severe psychiatric disorders
- Commitment to applying a consumer cantered and recovery focused approach on the care of people with mental illness
Healthcare workers in Victoria are required to have received three doses of COVID-19 vaccination. You will need to provide evidence before commencing employment with cohealth.
