About us

Code Black Psychology is a specialised multidisciplinary organisation consisting of psychologists, social workers, allied health professionals, and legal practitioners. Through teamwork we provide complex case consultations, diagnostic reviews, care team support and coordination, behaviour support and change, NDIS specialist support coordination, bespoke training and advice on policy and framework development.

About the role

Our Specialist Support Coordinators provide NDIS support coordination for people with complex needs who are persistently at risk of harming themselves and others. Our clients may present with one or more of:

  • High-risk, high-harm behaviours and involvement with the criminal justice system;
  • Multiple and dual diagnoses with complex healthcare and support needs;
  • Significant health, welfare and other community-based service needs characterised by challenges with engagement and limited participation with supports provided;
  • Multiple vulnerabilities such as having more than one disability, having a history of multiple hospitalisations and incarcerations; and disconnection from culture, community and identity.

You will handle a complex caseload and act as an expert in Level 3 specialist support coordination, assisting participants at the specialist level in implementing their NDIS plan to maximise choice, control, and engagement with high-quality service providers.

As a Specialist Support Coordinator you will lead the coordination and implementation of multi-faceted support responses within the parameters of the NDIS, for and with clients, their carers, guardians, and their support teams.

Specialist support coordination requires advanced skills in communication across a range of styles and levels, and a commitment to shared problem-solving, decision-making, planning and organisation. To thrive in this role:

  • You take a proactive, confident approach to your work
  • You have significant experience as an NDIS support coordinator, with comprehensive operational knowledge of the NDIS and relevant legislation, policies and service standards
  • You enjoy working with stakeholders, implementing services to improve the capacity and wellbeing of clients, monitoring outcomes and reporting progress
  • You are curious, a keen learner, and love a challenge.
  • Cultural awareness and inclusivity are key elements of your practice.

If you're ready to apply your skills to make a difference in the lives of people experiencing significant complexity, we'd love to hear from you. Our team members are rewarded with above award remuneration together with development and career enhancement through regular supervision, formal structured and unstructured professional development opportunities, and an organisational focus on continuous learning.

This is a full-time position: 0.8 FTE may be offered by agreement. We encourage a balance of working remotely and in-person attendance at our office in the Malvern area. Travel within Victoria, including some limited travel to rural and regional areas may be a part of the role.

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Allied Health, or equivalent disciplines will be highly regarded.

NDIS support coordination registration and a minimum of 2 years' experience is a pre-requisite to be considered for this position.

Applications will be considered on receipt and interviews arranged prior to the closing date.
