About the opportunity

  • This position is for a maternity cover contract, working four 8.5 hour days per week, commencing August 17th, 2026 through to December 23rd, 2027.  
  • Shift times vary between the hours of 6.45am to 6.15pm and the Receptionist is required to share opening and closing responsibilities across the week.
  • Reception is often a fast-paced environment, with a lot of contact with families as they drop off or pick up their children.
  • The position requires multi-tasking, flexibility and quick responses to families and staff queries.
  • The receptionist is often the first-person families and children see each day and would suit a warm and professional person. 
  • Successful candidate will receive a comprehensive 4 week handover that will include working in the rooms as an educator, to learn about the values and operations of the organisation and provide an opportunity to build relationships across the service, in addition to working along side the current receptionist to learn the role.

About You

The essentials that you will bring are:

  • Diploma or Cert III qualified educator 
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • A preference will be given to people who have experience in office management and/or receptionist positions and it is desired to have a working knowledge of software commonly used in early childhood services such as: Xap, Storypark or Qikkids.

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
