The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a non-profit organisation based in Victoria and has been shaping culture alongside multicultural young people and communities since 1988. Our purpose is to create a society where multicultural young people live a life where they are connected and can fully reach their potential.

CMY works to address systemic barriers that impact multicultural young people by:

• Advocating for social change, challenging inequities and barriers that multicultural young people face.
• Delivering support services and programs to young people and families.
• Connecting and creating innovative opportunities for multicultural young people.

About the Role

We are recruiting for two Multicultural Youth Worker positions. The Multicultural Youth Worker will provide individualised support and case management services to high school-aged young people who exhibit complex, risk-taking behaviours and are at risk of engaging with the Youth Justice System.

Services and support will include undertaking risk assessments, developing and implementing school re-engagement plans, providing family support, and conducting outreach work. Through the services provided, the worker will assist young people to remain engaged in education, increase their positive engagement with and connection to their community and culture, and work towards achieving individual goals in order to reduce their risk of engaging with the Youth Justice System.

The Multicultural Youth Worker will be based across two schools located in the Greater Dandenong and Cardinia Shire areas.

• Hours: 30.4 hours per week (0.8 FTE), Part Time
• Fixed Term : until 31/12/2027
• Base Salary (SCHADS Level 4 ): $88,090.08 per annum (pro rata) plus Super and access to Salary Packaging (Salary Packaging is a great way to increase the value of your salary by allowing you to receive a portion of your income in the form of tax free or tax-deductible benefits.)

• Location: Dandenong; Two schools across Greater Dandenong and Cardinia Shire (Provide CMY Office location)
