About the Role
CMY seeks a Multicultural Youth Worker in the Ucan2 program who will be responsible for facilitating group programs with newly arrived young people in collaboration with program partners.
- Hours: 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE) , Part Time
- Fixed Term: until 31 March 2021
- Base Salary SCHADS Level 4: $71,175 per annum pro rata (plus Super and access to Salary Packaging)
- Location: CMY Carlton Office, with travel to various sites (Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this role will require you to initially work from home)
- Interviews: to be held in the week beginning Monday 21st September 2020
You will have
- Experience working with young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds and an understanding of issues affecting newly arrived young people, with an ability to identify issues of concern using a holistic and strengths-based approach.
- Demonstrated experience in group facilitation and engagement with young people and an understanding of positive group facilitation practices.
- Good intercultural communication skills with proven ability to liaise with diverse range of people including young people and volunteers.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with external organisations and staff.
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative, including well-developed organisational skills, as well as work in a team environment and a capacity to be flexible.
