The Community Media Training Organisation (CMTO) is seeking an experienced Digital Course Development Lead to take ownership of hands‑on digital course creation and delivery across our Thinkific learning platform.

This is a practical, production‑focused role for someone who loves building high‑quality online learning, working closely with subject matter experts, and seeing courses go live and make a difference across diverse communities.

About CMTO

CMTO is a Registered Training Organisation and charity dedicated to strengthening Australia’s community broadcasting sector. We deliver nationally recognised and pathways training, with a strong focus on regional and remote Australia, and on supporting Indigenous, disability, ethnic and multilingual communities.

About the role

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day build, optimisation and quality of CMTO’s online courses as we complete our transition to Thinkific.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys translating learning design into engaging, accessible digital experiences and is confident working across regulated and non‑accredited learning contexts.

Key responsibilities

  • Build, publish and maintain online courses in Thinkific
  • Develop interactive content using Articulate 360, including Rise and Storyline, packaging SCORM where required
  • Lead the migration and redevelopment of priority courses from Moodle
  • Ensure nationally recognised training aligns with ASQA and training package requirements
  • Design content for a diverse, largely volunteer learner cohort
  • Champion accessibility, usability and inclusive learning design
  • Continuously evaluate and improve courses based on feedback and emerging sector needs
  • Document systems and processes to support long‑term sustainability

About you

You are a confident digital course builder who enjoys working autonomously while collaborating closely with trainers, compliance staff and sector experts.

You will bring:

  • A qualification in learning design, instructional design or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Hands‑on experience building courses in Thinkific, or strong transferable experience with modern LMS platforms
  • Strong SCORM and Articulate 360 experience
  • A sound understanding of adult learning and WCAG 2.0 accessibility
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
