The Climate Risk Group / XDI

Location: Australia, Hybrid-working, shared office space in Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne.

ABOUT US

The Climate Risk Group is a company committed to quantifying and communicating the costs of climate change. Our mission is to influence decision-makers – large and small – towards action that directs global capital away from climate change-related activities and towards a net-zero carbon, high-resilience economy.

With 40 team members across Australia and the UK, the Climate Risk Group brings together XDI, with its finance and business focus, and Climate Valuation, which provides household-level insights into the costs of climate change. Together, our work leverages physical climate risk data, influence with global financial players, and grassroots momentum to create a compelling case for change.

Within our Web Services team, we're building a portal that will combine all of our products and capabilities into one big, self-service platform. We’re putting a bunch of our eggs in this basket, and have already sold it to one of the world’s largest financial regulators.

We're continuing to build our diverse and equal teams. If this interests you, please apply now by submitting your CV and a cover letter addressing all the capabilities and experience criteria and why you’d like to work for the Climate Risk Group/XDI. People from traditionally under-represented groups are encouraged to apply.

THE ROLE

Our Web Services product team owns the design and development of our self-service portal (Hub) that enables our resellers and commercial customers to access human-readable results, to scale the volume of sales, and provide sector-relevant insights with reliable climate risk information, empowering users to make climate-forward decisions for the planet.

As a Developer, you will bring your passion for building and designing web-based services, solving important problems, and your desire to influence technology choices and team culture.

You will be a critical member of the development team responsible for building, maintaining, and optimising Web Services applications. You will work closely with the team’s Product Manager to implement product designs efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for building scalable products capable of supporting future growth plans, not only developing software solutions but also managing the technical roadmap, ensuring product performance and security, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver a seamless user experience.
