We are one of Australia’s largest and most experienced carbon farming project developers. This includes more than 160 projects with farmers, plantation managers, agribusiness, and Indigenous groups on carbon farming projects.

Climate Friendly has delivered over 20Mt in carbon abatement as at the end of 2020. Our immediate mission is to establish partnerships, by 2025, that will store or reduce 150Mt of CO2-e, while repairing nature and supporting reconciliation. The role

As Project Manager you will work in a closely knit team who focus on finding and developing new carbon farming projects with our landholder clients. The role focuses on the rangeland areas of QLD & NSW initially.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Sourcing new client leads through proactive means
  • Contacting new clients to introduce Climate Friendly services and capability
  • Qualifying client and project potential through questioning and fact finding
  • Conducting field work such as farm visits
  • Quantifying the carbon potential of projects with our due diligence team
  • Presenting carbon farming opportunities to decision makers such as land managers / land owners.
  • Negotiating / signing carbon project agreements with clients
  • Collating data for project registration, project audit and continued project management
  • Coordinating project registrations with support from other internal teams
  • Maintaining records in our customer relationship management system
  • Creating and updating projects in Asana
  • Completing basic/intermediate QGIS mapping tasks as necessary
  • Establishing / maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders including clients, industry regulators, government departments, Aboriginal Corporations, and other partner organisations.
  • Coordinating successful project audits by working closely with our audit and compliance team
  • Gaining and maintaining Authorised Representative status under our AFSL, including meeting all ongoing requirements this involves

About you

Qualifications/lived experience in fields related to Natural Resources/Environmental Science or Agriculture. Experience in customer engagement and securing service agreements is also valuable. Enthusiasm for sourcing new business, good phone manner, and willingness to call land managers to discuss carbon opportunities. Comfort with Microsoft suite, CRM systems and ideally basic skills in mapping systems like QGIS and/or willingness and capacity to quickly upskill in this space.

Interest in land management/understanding of the Agricultural sector and empathy with the rural community. Previous experience with Emissions Reduction Fund/Carbon Farming advantageous Capacity to travel for fieldwork on a regular basis (1 week a month generally) and experience working/travelling in isolated areas using a 4WD.
