About the Role

Reporting to the Product Manager, the Senior Products Engineer will be responsible for assessing and maintaining a list of approved renewable energy products, including inverters, PV Modules and battery systems, to ensure product compliance with Australian and International design and installation standards.

Key role accountabilities include:

  • Reviewing and assessing product certification documents and manufacturers’ documentation against relevant Australian and International Standards for Photovoltaic (PV) modules, Inverters and Power Conversion Equipment (PCE), Energy Storage Devices (Batteries) and other future listed product categories as required.
  • Providing advice and technical support to Clean Energy Council members, accredited designers and installers, product manufacturers and importers regarding the product listing requirements.
  • Providing technical support and advice to accredited designers and installers regarding product concerns or issues.
  • Preparation of reports and other documentation to support compliance activities.
  • Supervising junior engineering staff which will include auditing prescriptive product processes.

About You

You will be a Senior Electrical Engineer who has previous experience evaluating technical product specifications against compliance standards in either a renewable energy, equipment design or manufacturing environment.

You will have a sound understanding and application of engineering principals and specialist knowledge as well as the ability to communicate technical and complex information to a range of different stakeholders.

You will be a lateral thinker and flexible in your approach to work. Previous people leadership experience will be highly desirable.

A keen interest in renewable technologies is a must together with a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineering Registration with Victoria Business Licensing Authority (BLA) as an Electrical Engineer.
