Digital Fundraising Coordinator

Children First Foundation

help children get the surgery that changes everything

  • Part-time (2 days/wk)
  • Work from home, Melbourne office for those nearby
  • $97,140–$99,313 pro rata + Super
  • Flexible working

Why this role matters

Meaningful impact: Children First Foundation facilitates life-changing surgery for disadvantaged children from developing countries. Our digital fundraising campaign introduces new supporters to this work – and this role keeps that campaign running and growing.

Real stories at the centre: One of our children, Jelome from Papua New Guinea, came to us unable to eat properly, breathe easily, or speak. After surgery, he said his first word: mama. Stories like his reach the people who can help – and sourcing them is part of this job.

Flexible foundation: Two days a week with fully flexible hours, including school hours. Which days you work is open and will be agreed together. Work from home, with our Melbourne office available for those nearby – one day a week in the office for collaboration.

What you'll do

As our Digital Fundraising Coordinator, you’ll coordinate the day-to-day delivery of our digital donor acquisition campaign with our digital fundraising agency – keeping schedules on track, reviewing creative, and checking every word. You’ll source the stories, photos and footage from our in-country partners (currently Vietnam, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste) that the campaign relies on. And you’ll look after the monthly givers the campaign welcomes in – managing the process for declined, expired and cancelled gifts, and providing warm, basic stewardship.

What we're looking for

  • Strong project management and organisational skills – you keep multiple tasks moving on time and on budget
  • Your workplace communication, both written and verbal, are fantastic. You write an email that says what you mean, and you're just as comfortable talking a stakeholder through it in the room.
  • Excellent writing, proofing and editing skills with sharp attention to detail
  • An understanding of direct marketing: talking straight to people and asking them for something
  • Comfortable contacting people you've never met – on the phone, in person and online
  • Comfortable coordinating work across countries and time zones – this is about organisation, not always being on call
  • Tech savvy and tech curious – happy to learn new systems

Fundraising knowledge and CRM experience are bonuses, but not essential. You don't need a passport, travel, or to have worked internationally before – you'll build that experience here.

What we offer

  • Competitive remuneration, including access to salary packaging / salary sacrifice benefits
  • Family-friendly, genuinely flexible and hybrid work culture with excellent work-life balance, including ability to work school hours
  • Professional development opportunities in a growing organisation
  • Meaningful work with measurable impact on children's lives
  • Purpose-led work in a highly trusted, established charity
  • Supportive team environment where your contributions are valued
  • Opportunity to help shape a growing organisation with clear progression opportunities as we expand
  • Access to a confidential Employee Assistance Program to support staff wellbeing

What you’ll need

Because we work with children, everyone completes a Working with Children Check, a National Police Check, signing our Child Safeguarding Code of Conduct, and annual child safeguarding training.

We're interviewing on a rolling basis, so don't delay.

Children First Foundation is committed to child safety and equal opportunity employment.

A position description is attached.  Our office is in Melbourne, and Melbourne-based applicants will be prioritised.
