Role Overview

As a key member of our Sector Development team, the Online Learning Specialist will be instrumental in creating and delivering engaging professional learning content tailored to individuals with varying levels of expertise. In this role, you will be responsible for writing courses, recording webcasts, and developing materials to support the sector’s growth and development. Your in-depth knowledge of the ECEC sector, coupled with your ability to collaborate with a panel of experts, will be key to enhancing and showcasing our content.

You will bring a strong understanding of online learning platforms, particularly Moodle, and have demonstrated experience designing engaging, user-centred digital learning experiences. With a creative approach to content development, you will be skilled in gamifying learning to enhance participation, motivation and knowledge retention, ensuring courses are interactive, accessible and aligned with learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and write content for both short and extended professional development courses.
  • Record webcasts and other multimedia content to support professional development.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to translate content into effective online learning solutions.
  • Design, develop and maintain engaging online learning content using Moodle and associated digital tools.
  • Apply gamification principles to create interactive learning experiences that improve learner engagement and outcomes.
  • Review, test and continuously improve digital learning content based on user feedback, data and best practice.
  • Ensure all online learning materials are accessible, user-friendly and aligned with organisational standards and branding.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Formal qualification and experience in ECEC or a related field.
  • Experience using Moodle or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Expertise in developing educational content and delivering professional development materials for learners of all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Strong writing skills and experience in content creation for educational purposes.
  • Ability to develop engaging and informative self-paced courses, webcasts, and multimedia content for a broad range of stakeholders, including families, professionals, communities, government, or corporate organisations.
  • Experience collaborating with experts and stakeholders, ensuring positive relationships and proactive communication.
  • A passion for enriching children's lives and supporting the growth of the professionals who nurture them.
