About the Position

Centacare, as the lead agency of a consortium-based model, is responsible for operating the headspace Port Adelaide service. headspace is Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation. The headspace mission is to improve the mental health, social wellbeing, and economic participation of young Australians aged 12-25 years. The Senior Youth Mental Health Clinician will work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for young people aged 12-25 with mild to moderate mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs, and/or work and study concerns.

The following key responsibilities will ensure you contribute to the program meeting its objectives.

  • Provide psychosocial assessment and psychological therapies to young people aged 12-25 with mild to moderate mental health concerns.
  • Provide clinical leadership support and supervision to colleagues, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide triage and risk assessment for complex presentations and act as first point of call for any risks or escalations from staff or public enquiries
  • Lead/manage Team Meetings and Clinical Reviews Develop, implement, and evaluate work policies, procedures, practices, and projects.
  • Work in cooperation with the Manager to develop, implement, monitor and review the clinical governance framework for the service.
  • Undertake stakeholder relationship development and management.
  • Budget development and management.
  • Data collection and reporting.

About You

To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following criteria:

Essential Criteria

  • Qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing
  • Psychologists and Mental Health Nurses must hold general registration with AHPRA, Occupational Therapists must hold membership of OT Australia and be endorsed under their Better Access to Mental Health endorsement scheme, and Social Workers must be members of the AASW and be accredited as Accredited Mental Health Social Workers
  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously known as ‘Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance’)
  • Due to the nature of our services, Centacare is required to comply with COVID19 government directions. You will be required to provide Centacare with your COVID19 vaccination certificate.   • Valid Driver's Licence

Desirable Criteria

  • Post graduate qualification in a relevant area of practice
  • Experience using Mastercare medical record management software
