CENSW is a registered community housing provider and peak body for housing co-operatives in NSW. Established in 2009, it supports thirty-one rental housing co-operatives across NSW, managing over 500 properties.
The co-operative housing model offers significant social, financial and well-being benefits, and our vision of success is that people and communities are happy and thriving through living in co-op housing.
CENSW achieves its impact through strategy and action – underpinned by the core values of inclusion, connection, integrity, and quality.
Key activities are designed to support member co-operatives, advocate for the co-operative housing model and grow the sector.
The CENSW Board consists of Technical and co-operative Member Directors with a wide range of skills and experience in property development, finance, co-operative housing management, governance, policy, and advocacy.
External committee members are appointed by the CENSW Board for their specific professional knowledge and expertise to provide additional support to Board committees. External Committee members have no voting rights and cannot hold positions of authority such as committee chair.
The CENSW Board is currently seeking an external committee member to sit on its People Assets and Growth Committee with the following skills and knowledge:
External Committee members will be expected to attend 6 meetings per year (majority online) and are expected to commit sufficient time to review materials. The position receives a small allowance to cover sundry expenses.
