The opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Finance and Payroll Officer (Finance Officer) to join CEHL and build a meaningful career with a stable, respected registered housing provider.

You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely within our finance team to ensure payroll for our 80 staff is accurate and that we have financial integrity by providing accurate and timely processing across accounts payable and receivable.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Officer supports CEHL's financial integrity by providing accurate and timely financial information and working closely with teams across the organisation to ensure strong financial controls, compliance and effective service delivery. This role will work in team that is responsible for:

  • Payroll - you'll work closely with our third-party vendors and ensure the accurate and timely processing of a fortnightly payroll whilst being the 'go to' person for payroll related queries.
  • Accounts payable and receivable;
  • Revenue, debtor and payables management;
  • Reimbursements to Authorities (eg; water and council rates);
  • Coordinating the financial and statutory aspects of property handbacks.

ABOUT YOU

Tertiary qualified in Finance, Accounting or a relevant field you are either registered or studying towards your CPA.

  • You will have a solid understanding of payroll processes underpinned by your knowledge of Awards, Enterprise Agreements, Superannuation and Salary Packaging.
  • You have experience with accounts payable and receivable in a complex environment and have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • You have an eye for detail and a high accuracy rate for reviewing and inputting data
  • You are comfortable following up any outstanding payments in a professional manner.
  • You love ensuring that the shared inbox is kept to a minimum with prompt and accurate action
  • You keep up to date with changes in legislation that have the potential to impact payroll
