Organisation

The position is within a small not for profit organisation that services the construction industry in the ACT and surrounds. The organisation provides high level case management, support and referral service for construction industry workers and their families.

Role

This is a six month contract for a case manager.

The case manager role is responsible for case management and support activities. The case manager is required to manage own case load, including prioritising, exercising judgement and scheduling work to meet set timelines.

This may involve attending home visits and appointments with clients, as well as advocating on their behalf with their workplace and other community/Government services.

Work is undertaken in an office environment with some work required on construction sites. The role requires establishment of relationships with construction workers, their families, referral organisations, construction companies and the construction industry union.

The case manager reports directly to the General Manager.

Salary - $70,000 per annum (pro rata for six months) plus 12% superannuation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Case management and support of clients
  • Maintaining relationships with referral organisations
  • Working within a small team to support each over and the work of the organisation

Candidate

  • Experience in case management
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs of workers in the construction industry or an ability to acquire this knowledge
  • Ability to work closely with construction union, including organisers and delegates on-site
  • To be considered for this position you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance
  • Have a current Working with Vulnerable People check clearance or be willing to apply for this clearance
  • Current Driver's License
