The Cancer Information and Support Services Division (CISS) aims to empower and support people affected by cancer, so that no-one need face cancer alone. This Division assists people as they navigate the cancer journey, easing their emotional and practical burdens and helping them make informed decisions.
The Practical Support Services team provides support to people affected by cancer, ensuring practical needs are met throughout their cancer trajectory. The services offered include pro bono legal and workplace advice, support with accommodation and transport to and from treatment, as well as various types of financial support. These services aim to meet the legal, financial and practical needs of people affected by cancer and contribute to their well-being by reducing stress and improving their quality of life.
The key purpose of the Paralegal role is to support the delivery of pro bono professional services to people affected by cancer experiencing legal, financial and workplace issues through Cancer Council’s Legal, Financial and Workplace Referral Services.
This role will commence from 12 January 2026, for an 8-month period (finishing August 2026). The role could be either full-time or part-time (4 days) depending on the successful candidate.
