About the team

The Cancer Prevention and Advocacy Division (CPA) leads the organisation’s work in cancer prevention, screening, policy and advocacy, to reduce smoking, improve sun protection behaviours, increase the proportion of people that are a healthy weight, reduce harmful levels of alcohol consumption and improve screening program participation. We work closely with the NSW government and community to advocate for change to address key issues in cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and care.

About the role:

The Manager, Business Planning and Reporting is responsible for working closely with the Director, Cancer Prevention & Advocacy to support the delivery of organisational strategic priorities and projects, driving Divisional planning and impact reporting and enhancing internal business processes.

The Manager, Business Planning and Reporting is a key member of the Divisional Leadership Team (DLT), working collaboratively with the Director, DLT and other business managers across the organisation. This role will have a high level of internal stakeholder management across CCNSW and is a member of the Business Manager group.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead and coordinate CPA’s engagement with the development, implementation and evaluation of organisational strategic priorities, working closely with the Strategy & Operational Performance team, and the Business Managers group.
  • Work with the CPA Project and Operations Coordinator to manage key projects or activities that are CPA-led and cross-divisional in nature.
  • Lead and coordinate CPA’s annual planning and budget processes with effective and efficient engagement from the entire DLT.
  • Lead and coordinate CPA’s contribution to organisational progress and impact reporting, including to the Executive Leadership Team reporting and Board, in accordance with wider business deadlines and processes.
  • Build and maintain close and positive working relationships with the different business areas across the organisation, in particular Finance, Strategy and Operations, People & Culture, as well as Marketing & Fundraising, to increase Divisional effectiveness, efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Business Managers group to support and enhance effective cross-divisional ways of working.
  • Work with the CPA Project and Operations Coordinator in optimising divisional systems and processes to enable effective and efficient operations across CPA spanning communication, engagement, risk management and compliance.
  • Collaborate with all members of the CPA DLT to balance mission impact needs and business operating needs.
  • Manage, analyse and report strategic risks for CPA and engage with cross Divisional partners to manage and control these risks.
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders, both within CPA and across the organisation, to support and navigate change on an as needs basis.

About you

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business or a related discipline, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in a business manager role or similar, with a demonstrated understanding of business processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, influence and maintain collaborative working relationships across a range of internal stakeholders, preferably in complex projects and business processes.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including experience in report writing to senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills in planning and prioritising, problem solving, and being results driven.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of, and commitment to, the charitable sector.
  • Experience in health or public health organisations
