The backbone that supports all areas is our pivotal IT team.

Based primarily in our Woolloomooloo office, blended with flexibility of WFH, you will respond to second tier requests for support and assistance from Cancer Council’s staff, volunteers and supporters to facilitate the best possible user experience. With a wide range of technologies (research to fundraising), this role offers a wide exposure to learning!

Reporting to the IT Operations & Security Manager, and part of a wider IT team of 14, you will be supported and encouraged. Your existing Systems Engineer experience will set the foundation for you to:

  • Manage and maintain, and wherever possible improve, CCNSW’s systems and technology infrastructure.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and build upon our team’s business and technical knowledge and deliver all this in line with industry best practice.

How?

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the management, maintenance, monitoring and security of all computer hardware and software systems to meet the organisation's current and future requirements
  • Responsibility for the, administration, monitoring and security of all cloud services and infrastructure used to support organisational requirements.
  • Contributing to the management, maintenance, monitoring and security of LAN and WAN network devices, wireless network devices and other network security andor optimisation devices.
  • Contributing to the management, maintenance, monitoring and security of telephony and communications infrastructure.
  • Monitoring systems and identifying performance issues proactively.
  • Working within agreed time frames and SLAs to resolve incidents and escalations.
  • Testing all changes to networks, hardware, software, and hosted applications and infrastructure
  • Assisting with the management of monitoring all deliverables to comply with quality standards, and regulatory compliance in order to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Managing small projects or elements of larger projects to assist with the delivery of new initiatives.
  • Work with various vendors and service providers to ensure effective deliver of products and services.

Are you a match?

A customer focused people approach is essential. This is a technical role, requiring business partnering skills. You will also bring:

  • Previous experience in an IT support services environment and participation in an IT Service Desk.
  • Experience with Windows Server technologies including: Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, Powershell, Terminal Services
  • Demonstrated previous experience in deployment of systems technologies in a complex and distributed business environment.
  • Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining a SOE for Windows Clients and Servers
  • Demonstrated knowledge and previous experience in managing and maintaining a Microsoft application servers environment Dynamics, Exchange, Teams, BI, SharePoint, IIS, or SQL)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and previous experience in managing and maintaining backup and recovery technologies for use in operational and DR scenarios
  • Knowledge and previous experience in the management of centralised IT services in both local and remote support scenarios
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supporting SAAS, LAN, WAN, and Wireless LAN networks as well as network security and optimisation devices.
