CatholicCare NT is a Catholic social service agency established in the Diocese of Darwin. We provide services throughout the NT, including service centres in Darwin, Palmerston, Malak, Tiwi Islands, Daly River, Wadeye, Jabiru, Maningrida, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Santa Teresa, Titjikala, Finke and APY lands.

The MBCP is based in Darwin and Wadeye. The primary purpose of the program is to support the safety of women and children. The evidence-based program supports men to develop and maintain respectful attitudes and behaviours within their family and intimate partner relationships. The program is delivered in a group setting with individual outreach support where participants are provided with education, strategies, and referrals to other services. CCNT’s MBCP uses an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Theory framework to underpin delivery.

What we are looking for

  • Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Welfare Studies or Men’s Family Violence with substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in relevant practice and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DFV response frameworks, risk assessment and safety.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills encompassing report writing, case note writing and supervision and the ability to communicate effectively with managers, staff and stakeholders across a range of diverse cultural groups and settings.
  • Experience in recording and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data in line with program requirements and leading a team to do the same.
  • Experience in providing supervision to multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.

This position is in Wadeye, an indigenous community 400 km south west of Darwin. This is not a FIFO role, living and working in a remote community is not for everyone, please consider this before applying.

The Northern Territory is one of the most culturally diverse places in the world.

Wadeye is the largest indigenous community in the Northern Territory. Situated 400 km south west of Darwin in the West Daly Region. The inhabitants of this community encompass seven language groups and five traditional bands or kinship groups.
