We are looking for a solution focused, curious and proactive HR Business Partner who thrives on partnering with leaders, solving complex people issues and lifting organisational performance.

The opportunity

In this role you will:

• Partner with Leaders as a trusted advisor on the full employee lifecycle. From recruitment and onboarding through to performance, development, change and exit.
• Coach and influence leaders to confidently manage people matters, address issues early and build strong, accountable teams.
• Provide clear, practical and timely advice on employment legislation, awards and internal policies, balancing people experience with organisational risk and operational realities.
• Work closely with the General Manager Human Resources on HR projects, workforce initiatives and continuous improvement across HR systems, processes and practices.
• Use data, insights and feedback to identify trends, spot risks and co-design solutions that improve engagement, retention and performance.

This is not a transactional HR role. It is a contemporary HRBP position suited to someone who enjoys autonomy, variety and meaningful impact in a values based environment.

About you

You will be a dynamic HR practitioner who brings:

• Solid generalist HR experience, including hands-on exposure to complex employee relations, performance and conduct issues.
• A go-getter mindset – you are a self-starter, organised, and comfortable taking initiative and seeing things through.
• Strong curiosity and problem-solving skills – you ask great questions, get to the root cause and design practical, people centred solutions.
• Confidence in interpreting employment legislation, modern awards and HR policies, and explaining them in clear, accessible language.
• Ability to build trust quickly, coach and influence leaders, and navigate sensitive conversations with discretion and professionalism.
• A continuous improvement lens – you notice patterns, suggest improvements and enjoy making HR processes simpler and more effective.
• Cultural competence and a genuine commitment to working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal people and culturally diverse communities.

Experience in the community services or not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.
