Youth CONNECT Case Manager - Townsville

About the role

In this newly created role you will be working in our Youth Connect program. In partnership with the Queensland Government the Youth Connect program focuses on helping young people leaving state-based care get on their feet and develop the skills and confidence to live independently.

You will be responsible for supporting young people in the program.

Each day will be distinct in this varied role however, your key everyday jobs will include:

  • Undertaking the initial screening and intake processes;
  • Overseeing the development and ongoing review and evaluation of case plans;
  • Directly supporting and assisting young people with finding education, training and employment opportunities and other critical life skills;
  • Providing culturally safe, trauma-informed and strengths-based service delivery to clients.

About you

You are passionate about the welfare of children and achieving the absolute best outcomes for them.

Empathy is second nature to you, and you are compassionate toward your clients and work colleagues.

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:

  • A degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social sciences or related;
  • A good understanding of child development and trauma theory;
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting young people from adolescence to adulthood.
