Carers NSW is the peak organisation for carers in NSW. We are a not-for-profit organisation connecting and empowering carers across NSW and improving their quality of life through activities, programs, training and policy advice. We advocate for carers of all ages and circumstances.

As the Community Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for strengthening community connections and building sector capability to support the establishment and sustainability of carer peer support groups.

The role focuses on engaging priority communities, developing partnerships, and supporting peer leaders to increase the number and diversity of peer support opportunities, particularly for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers.

This is a part time contract position until June 2027.

Our ideal candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement, community development or stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in providing education sessions to various stakeholders within the community services or allied health services sector
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues experienced by carers
  • Demonstrated experience in developing resources and education content and resources for delivery across various mediums such as face to face, video link, webinars and e-learning technologies
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Strong time management and task prioritising skills
  • High level written, oral communication and computer skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment

Salary and Benefits

The Salary is approx. $63K+ super for 3 days per week (full-time equivalent is $100K+Super).
