Established in 2009, CareerTrackers is a national nonprofit with the goal of creating pathways and support systems for Indigenous young adults to attend and graduate from university, with high marks, industry experience and bright professional futures.

The organisation creates multi-year internships and professional employment opportunities for current and aspiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students. CareerTrackers Interns and Alumni represent a generation of Indigenous professionals who are changing the landscape of not only corporate Australia but of wider Australian society.

About the role

CareerTrackers are seeking an energetic Region Lead to lead a team of advisors and support the Program Manager in the successful planning and delivery of the program. The role is key in managing strategic relationships across corporate, university and community partners to create internship opportunities and employment outcomes for current and aspiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students.

As a Region Lead you will:

  • Lead and motivate a team of advisors
  • Manage a portfolio of students, and partnerships with stakeholders across the university and public and private sectors
  • Provide coaching and advice to team members to achieve performance outcomes
  • Lead student engagement for the region, enhancing the student experience and ultimately drive higher student retention and graduation rates
  • Drive student recruitment across region, developing plans to meet and exceed targets
  • Set team related KPI’s and targets, acting as a driving force to achieve strategic goals
  • Oversee existing and new strategically valuable relationships with company, university and community partners in the region, providing a level of service excellence that supports program growth and enhances stakeholder engagement with the program
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Manager and other Region Leads to plan and supervise program delivery milestones and processes
  • Act as a subject matter expert on CareerTrackers Program Delivery and lead the planning and delivery of workshops and events for the region.

  • You and your team consistently understand and follow National Program delivery standards and practices, meeting KPIs with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement

Skills and experience

Who is this job for?

  • The successful applicant will be degree qualified (Bachelor Degree or higher in a related discipline) with demonstrated 2+ years of experience in Student Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion, Careers Advising, Stakeholder Management, Education or similar

  • Awareness of, connection to and passion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and community

  • Proven leadership experience that inspires and engages both own team and key stakeholders to deliver outcomes

  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with corporate and community stakeholders

  • Strong planning skills, attention to detail and an ability to use initiative, think laterally and strategically to meet deadlines and deliver outcomes
